Orders to Europe Re-opening from Monday 4th January

We are delighted to soon be able to once again accept orders to our European customers, thank you for your patience over this period of unparalleled instability.  We look forward to welcoming you back.

Since the UK will officially leave the EU from 1st January 2021, there will, however, be some changes to how we deliver to you.  We have worked hard without courier partners to ensure that the process is as smooth as possible and have developed systems to ensure that your orders clear customs smoothly, without delays and without input or additional cost from you.  The price you pay on the website will be the total price paid – you will not need to pay any additional customs fees, sales tax, duty or admin fees when your goods enter Europe – Cosy Owl pay them all on your behalf.  This is great news to us all and our automatic systems will ensure that customs have all the information needed to clear without any delays, so delivery times shouldn’t be unduly extended.

New Shipping Costs and Free Delivery Thresholds from 1st Jan 2021

However, there are extra costs to clearing customs and Cosy Owl will pay all of these on your behalf.  Whilst we have absorbed some of these costs to minimise the impact this will have on our customers; it does unfortunately mean that delivery costs and the free delivery threshold has had to be increased on the site.

The threshold for free shipping will now be €200.

Are you registered for Sales Tax in Your Country and Need to Reclaim this?

If you are a business that is registered for sales tax in your country, then it is important that you contact us to place your orders post 1st Jan 2021.  On the site, the prices we are charging include sales tax and generally this will be paid directly upon clearing customs and you will therefore be unable to reclaim them.

So, if you need to re-claim sales tax, then either place your order online but select the ‘Agent Call Back For Payment’ option or email us your order and we will create your order excluding sales tax and we will ship it in a way that means customs will contact you directly as it enters Europe.  They will invoice you directly for sales tax and once paid, will release it from customs to be delivered to you.  Because you are paying the sales tax directly you can then claim it back.  Your shipping cost from Cosy Owl will also be reduced by the equivalent of £5, as this is the customs clearing fee. This fee will, however, also be payable directly by you as your order enters the EU.  The total cost to you will be exactly the same as shown on the site but it will mean you can reclaim the sales tax element.  It is important to note that it is not possible to re-claim sales tax on orders that were placed without going through this process.

Once again, thank you for your continued support through this period of disruption and uncertainty for everyone.  We are delighted to be able to re-open for orders to Europe and though these changes are not great for anyone, we are pleased that we have been able to minimise the cost and time implications and are able to offer ongoing support to our European customers.
