Step 1.

First, open up the solid shampoo base and use a knife to cut around the edges of the shampoo base to release it from its container. You will need about ¾ of the shampoo base. Next, chop the base into small chunks, this will make it easier to melt in the next step.

Step 2.

Add the chunks to a microwavable jug and place in the microwave. Heat this for 2 minutes, then use a spoon to stir the liquid and add the rest of the chunks.

Step 3.

Heat again for 2 minutes and then stir to check all the chunks have melted. If needed, heat for a further 1-2 minutes to melt the leftover chunks.

Step 4.

Check the temperature of the liquid soap to make sure it is below the flash point temperature (Bergamot Essential oil (67°c) or Pacthouli Essential Oil ( 114°c)). Add 20 drops of essential oil into the liquid soap and stir slowly into fully blended.

Step 5.

Next, add half a teaspoon of mica powder to the mix. Slowly mix this until a smooth creamy colour. To help assist with the blending of the powder you could add a few sprays of rubbing alcohol to the mica powder to help liquify the colourant.

Step 6.

Another tip for popping surface bubbles is to spray rubbing alcohol inside the moulds before pouring the soap. Pour the creamy soap into each mould until just below the edge of the mould so it doesn’t overflow. You could then spray the surface of the soap with more rubbing alcohol to pop any stray bubbles.

Step 7.

Once all the bars have hardened, pop them out of the mould. You now have 4 bars, ready to use and enjoy a pamper night in!
